Developer_Direct 2023: Hi-Fi Rush Surprise Announcement

Tango Gameworks has announced a (not scary) rhythm fighting game, Hi-Fi Rush. That’s not all, though. Hi-Fi Rush releases today — a few hours after the show — on PC and the Xbox X|S as well as on Game Pass.

Hi-Fi Rush looks a lot different from what you would expect from the creators of Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo. The trailer is bursting with colour, music, and action-packed sequences that seem to take you on an epic journey. You’ll play as Chai, a wannabe rockstar who is a victim of a corporate experiment. Teaming up with your robot cat and friends, your goal is to take down the corporate entity and put a stop to its sinister agenda.

Hi-Fi Rush is designed for rhythm pros and players completely new to the genre. Your moves and attacks will create a living soundtrack as you flow to the beat. It’s not about mashing buttons. You get rewarded for staying in rhythm, but missing beats won’t count against you. So you have the freedom to jump, dodge, and parry as you like. It’s supposed to be a super easy game to jump into since your actions sync up with the music. Enemy attacks, cutscenes, and dangerous obstacles will sync to the music as well, creating the feeling that you’re playing through a music video.

Play the full game today! Hi-Fi Rush is available on PC and the Xbox X|S, as well as on Game Pass.
