Developers of Cyberpunk 2077 Release Statement on PS4 & Xbox One Issues

After the success from the day one launch of Cyberpunk 2077, Developers CD Projekt Red (CDPR) have found themselves in hot water due to the condition across all platforms; chiefly, the PlayStation 4 & Xbox One versions.

CDPR released a statement on Twitter, saying

“First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One”

Two patches are scheduled for January and February of 2021 to curtail the graphics and performance differences between last-gen consoles and PC/current generation consoles.

Currently sitting at a 2.9 on Metacritic for the PS4 release, players are voicing their experiences in droves. The game on release has been marred with frame rate issues, poorly rendered textures, and bugs that vary from unintentional glitches to game-breaking hindrances.

Reviews and criticisms of Cyberpunk 2077 likely saw the recent plunge CDPR's stock took on the advent of the game's release, though the trend has been on a steady decline since their second delay in august and subsequent crunch for its missed November 19th release date.

Those disappointed by the quality of the PS4 & Xbox One copies of Cyberpunk 2077 are able to claim a refund through their respective digital platforms, and physical versions depending on the policies of the store.
