Doom Re-releases No Longer Require Bethesda Net Login

Recently the original 1993 version of Doom and its sequel Doom II were re-released on modern consoles. Despite being robust ports of the classic games, the requirement to login to a Bethesda.net account to play the games led to a lot of criticism from fans, finding the idea of having to sign in online to play games from over 20 years ago to be ridiculous.

Bethesda has taken these criticisms on board, releasing a patch that allows players to skip the Bethesda.net login requirement. The notification when disconnected from the internet has also been removed, meaning that the flow of gameplay will no longer be interrupted when switching to offline play.

Doom and Doom II are currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for £3.99 each.
