DualSense is the Brand New PlayStation 5 Controller
Sony has this week unveiled the brand new controller that will launch alongside the PlayStation 5, still slated for release towards the back end of 2020.
Named DualSense, the most immediate difference is the two toned colouring of the controller, a departure from the single solid colours of the DualShock's of years past. Look closer, and there's a few other new features too. The share button is now a "Create" button, there's now an inbuilt microphone, USB-C and a light bar that now surrounds the touch pad rather than sitting at the top.
Internally, improvements include haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, much like the Xbox Elite controller. Sony says that it challenged itself to fit in all of these new gubbins inside without altering the size too drastically, meaning it has slightly altered the angle of the triggers to give it a smaller than it looks feel.
Only the white and black colour you can see in the images above has been pictured, but we can assume that more options will be shown as we get closer to launch. The internal rechargeable battery is still included too.
The controller is due to launch alongside the PlayStation 5 when it releases in late 2020.
