Elden Ring - Gameplay Preview Trailer

FromSoftware has premiered a gameplay preview of their upcoming title, Elden Ring, giving a glimpse into the highly anticipated game.

Boasting a vast new open-world map, the preview showcased the convenience of traversing the land on horseback and with the help of Spirit Springs that launch you high onto cliff edges for vertical maneuverability. We also got to see the new stealth mechanic, inspired by FromSoftware's Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, as well the inclusion of enemy camps scattered across the world for players to handle creatively.

Familiar elements from previous Souls-like games make a warmly welcomed return, such as summoning allies to assist in your battles, as well as illusory walls and a bonfire-esque sanctuary. Fans of the Dark Souls series will be pleased to see a return of finely interwoven level design, amplified in this instance with the new open-world, with plenty of exploration and alternate routes to progress through dungeons.

The Elden Ring preview has shown a promising future for the Souls-like pioneers, FromSoftware, and although the Dark Souls series appears to be over, Elden Ring appears more than capable of carrying on the legacy.

Backed with an expansive world and mythology created by George R.R. Martin, Elden Ring will not only be a must-play for fans of FromSoftware’s games, but any fantasy fans looking for a challenge.

Elden Ring will be releasing on February 25th, 2022, available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as previous gen consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
