Facebook Shares Drop After Oculus Buyout
Facebook's shares have dropped 6.9% in value during the first full day after the Oculus VR buyout.
It was announced that Facebook bought out Oculus is a deal worth over $2 billion on Tuesday. The following day, Facebook shares dropped by $4.51 leaving them worth $60.38 each.
There has been a mixed reaction to the buyout, with some Kickstarter backers of the Oculus Rift demanding their money back. Markus "Notch" Persson has expressed disappointment at the deal, suggesting that he doesn't want to work in social media.
Facebook's shares also took an early hit after its acquisition of Whatsapp last month, but they leapt back up the following week.
