Fallen Tear: The Ascension Releases Final Early Access Content Pack Ahead of 1.0 Launch Later This Year

Winter Crew Studios and CMD Studios launched Fallen Tear: The Ascension on Steam Early Access on the 17th of March 2026. This Kickstarter darling hit its funding goal and launched on Steam with an expected Early Access run of less than a year.

At the time of launch, the game had various regions, several main bosses, optional side bosses, a lot of characters to meet, and dozens of hours of playtime. It was a great show of what's to come, and players were invited to check out what was available and leave their feedback on official channels.

Now, just a few months after the launch of the Early Access, the team has announced that the upcoming 1.1.0 update will be the final one. This is looking ahead to a Q4 2026 release for the full 1.0 launch, which will feature the whole gameplay, feature-complete, for players to enjoy.

It's a refreshing change of pace from usual Early Access pipelines, which end up with scope creep and can — sometimes — lead to abandoned titles. Instead, the promised launch date seems to be well within the scope, as the team prepares to move full steam ahead with the upcoming launch.

This update features two new areas, titled the Whirlpool and Ageuan, as players head to the domain of Euan to defeat them. This includes three Ageuan Gatekeepers waiting under the waters of Raoah, which are continuations from the teases that showed underwater sections players couldn't reach in the early access.

Aside from major content updates, including new bosses, there are also plenty of quality-of-life features that players will be able to engage with. The update is actually available right now, released on the 1st of May 2026.
