Fallout 4 Officially Revealed

It’s 8:57AM. I'm sitting in my office, drinking coffee, watching a doomsday clock. Three minutes to midnight, it reads. Three minutes until Bethesda drops a bomb. Fallout 4 is coming.
2 minutes to midnight.
1 minute.
Then the trailer arrives.

Fallout 4 Revealed
After five years of absence, Fallout 4 has arrived. Bethesda revealed the official teaser this morning and announced the game’s release to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Bethesda also encourages gamers to tune in to live coverage of their official E3 showcase.

Teaser Trailer
The teaser gives players everything they could ever want from a trailer. Mirroring cinematics from the original Fallout, the trailer opens to a slowly expanding shot of a “Please Stand By” emergency broadcast. From there, the trailer explodes with action, flip-flopping between pre and post-nuclear scenes. Set in the Commonwealth (in Massachusetts), all of the franchise’s most memorable NPCs are here: Mr. Handies, mirelurks, ghouls, radrats, and (of course) the Brotherhood of Steel.

Though much darker in tone, the trailer’s visuals are much brighter than the series’ last two titles. Cartoonish at times, the trailer lures viewers into a false sense of comfort--a feeling that is completely lost when warheads drop in the second half of the trailer.

In short, Bethesda’s Fallout 4 trailer is a masterpiece unto itself. Miranda Studios has really outdone themselves with this one. I can’t wait to see what Bethesda reveals at E3.

Fallout 4
Fallout 4 is the fifth official instalment of the Fallout franchise. First developed by Black Isle Studios, a subsidiary of Interplay, Bethesda Softworks purchased the property shortly after Black Isle closed. They released Fallout 3 in 2008 to awards, accolades, and overwhelmingly positive reviews. Obsidian released Fallout: New Vegas two years later.

Fallout is a post-apocalyptic survival game set in a stylized version of the future. In it, survivors must fight the elements, monsters, and each other to carve out a place in the new world. For more information, visit Fallout4.com.

So good... I am PUMPED for this. Hopefully involves time travel, at the least involves playing in the past.

Bethesda and Obsidian were really ambitious with concept art for the last two games. The concept for New Vegas was massive. I hope they can deliver their complete vision with this game. Todd Howard seems pumped. Here's to hoping Fallout 4 is the biggest game ever!

Amusingly enough, the site has a preorder link that points to two UK stockists that dn't list Fallout 4.
