Final Fantasy IX coming to PC and Smartphones

Final Fantasy IX was one of the best-selling games in the series, with over 5 million copies of the PS1 exclusive sold. 16 years on, Square Enix have announced that you will be able to play the game once again due to a smartphone and PC re-release coming in 2016.

The game is likely to get a fresh lick of paint but not a full HD re-imagining in the same vein as the Japanese giant's other re-releases of their RPG franchise have done before it.
