Recently, Polish website Graczpospolita stated that remakes of the first two The House of the Dead games were in the works for modern platforms. Now, official confirmation has come from publisher Forever Entertainment’s official Twitter account.
The Tweet reads “Hi Guys! We confirm the signing of the agreement regarding remakes of the games "The House of the Dead" and "The House of the Dead 2". No platforms or release dates have been confirmed, and unfortunately we can’t say anything more for now.”
The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2 are classic light-gun arcade games that were released in the late 90’s, having a horror theme with players primarily shooting at zombies and other nightmarish monsters. They were developed by SEGA, and the franchise has since been considered one of the greatest light-gun shooter franchises around, helping to popularise the zombie craze in videogames.
Currently, Forever Entertainment is involved with the upcoming remakes of the first two Panzer Dragoon games, which are currently slated for a 2019 release.
