The aim of Fortnite is to build a fort to protect against the monsters that come out at night during the storm. So: night + fort = Fortnite. It's basic mathematics.

 The aim of the game is to go around your section of the world with a group of people to build a fortress that will withstand an attack. The attacks will happen whenever the storm gets to you - which is night time. You collect parts from crates, chests and even trees that will help you build.

As the video shows, what you build is pretty much up to you. Think there should be more doors - put more in those walls. More windows to shoot through - go ahead.
