Free Movie Transmogs for World of Warcraft Players, Free World of Warcraft for Some Moviegoers
With the massive amount of in-depth lore in the series, it’s no surprise to see that Warcraft is getting a big-screen adaptation in the next few weeks. In celebration, Blizzard have announced a few promotions to coincide with the release.
First up, there’s some free trangmogrifications (transmogs) coming to the game. For those who don’t know, this is a process where armour and weapons can be changed in appearance so that players can use a gear with the best stats for them, but make it look like something different, meaning they don’t have to sacrifice looks for power.
Any player logging into the game from the 25th of may to the 1st of August will receive four transmog items. The alliance sword and shield from the movie, the Horde axe and Gul’dan’s staff. These are entirely free so as long as you enter the game in that period, you will get them to keep.

But what if you want to see the movie but you don’t have the game? Well, Blizzard have considered that and participating cinemas will be giving away codes for a digital copy of World of Warcraft. There’s a full list on Blizzard’s website of cinemas where you can get this across Europe, Australasia and South America. Sadly, there are Canadian or British cinemas supporting the offer at the time of writing.
“A whole new audience will experience the war between the Alliance and the Horde when the Warcraft movie hits theaters,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re excited to give moviegoers a chance to participate in that conflict firsthand and explore Azeroth for themselves after seeing it on the big screen.”
