FromSoftware's ELDEN RING Franchise Proves to Be a Behemoth with Latest Sales Report

To say FromSoftware is a well-established developer would be a bit of an understatement. Having won numerous awards in their games, receiving critical acclaim for years without a flop, and surviving criticism from players who disagree with the difficulty of their games hasn't stopped them from reaching the stars.

ELDEN RING was a massive success for the team — what felt like DARK SOULS 4 quickly became an open-world phenomenon that everyone knows about. The beloved IP has spawned a few iterations, from a highly successful DLC to a substantial spin-off game, which many called an "asset flip", that didn't disappoint.

As such, the team has announced that ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion for the first game, has reached a whopping 10 million purchases, a staggering amount for a DLC launched just last year. Meanwhile, ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN surpassed the five million sales mark, setting it as a successful title in the overall line-up.

This is how the three ELDEN RING titles are performing so far:

• ELDEN RING has sold about 30 million copies with a 94 Metacritic score.
• ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree has sold 10 million copies with a 92 Metacritic score.
• ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN has sold five million copies with a 77 Metacritic score.

By all accounts, it's safe to say that the ELDEN RING franchise is bustling, and that will only grow with the ELDEN RING: Tarnished Edition launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the upcoming live-action adaptation.
