"Gachaless Genshin" Duet Night Abyss Stream for Major Updates and Official Song
MiHoYo's Genshin Impact changed the world with the launch of their gacha title on PC, normalising mobile games' monetisation practices on Windows. Since then, countless companies have been fighting to get a piece of the revenue, creating their own versions featuring similar gacha mechanics, all the while incorporating the Breath of the Wild–esque gameplay that made it so popular.
It's no secret, nor surprise, that not many have been able to capture the charm, but one team is going about it very differently, offering a unique approach. Pan Studios and Hero Games have announced what is being called a "gachaless Genshin", which is precisely what it sounds like: free-to-play without the banner system that makes it so predatory.
Duet Night Abyss offers a different approach, and one that might offer to return to the tried-and-true times of free-to-play titles through selling cosmetics, though in-depth information about the in-app purchases hasn't yet been shared. In an upcoming major stream, however, that's going to change, as players will be able to tune in to a stream over the weekend on the 25th of October.
The livestream is already scheduled on YouTube, if you wish to get a notification regarding the launch — follow this link here! There's a pre-registration event available right now via iOS and Google Play, with Epic Games and Steam versions coming at a later date. Duet Night Abyss launches on the 28th of October 2025.
