I once saw a man on the bus dressed as a robot. It wasn't an expensive costume, he'd basically just covered himself in tinfoil and egg boxes, but he seemed happy with it. He smelt a bit like bacon and ennui. I asked if he was going to a fancy dress party but he didn't want to speak to me, he just made some bleepy noises and went back to eating his sandwich. I never saw him again after that one day.
