Games Companies Come Out in Support of YouTubers

A number of large games companies have been announcing on twitter and other channels that they are on the side of YouTube content creators in the recent débacle about 3rd party content and "play with" videos. After one YouTuber was quoted as feeling "like Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix" after he decided to ensure he got permission for use from companies first, the likes of Capcom, Oddworld Inhabitants and others are coming out on the side of the YouTubers in the case of their own content, but are unable to help in the case of third party content such as music.

When interviewed by Polygon YouTuber GhostRobo was quoted as saying "It's like YouTube just vomited out all these claims... It's not from some legitimate games companies. I don't see how they are even associated with the games they are making claims on."

A spokesperson for Deep Silver was also quoted in the same article as saying "We definitely don't want YouTubers to have to deal with this, We aren't sure really where these claims are coming from but we never want to block YouTubers from having fun with any of our games. We've already been looking into what we can do for the past day since this first went down and we'll be getting together tomorrow first thing in the morning to try and unravel it some more to find ways to help."
