God of War Goes Gold

God of War Goes Gold

God of War's director, Cory Barlog, confirmed yesterday that the game has finished its (initial) development and has now gone gold.

"Going gold" is a term which a game has completed development, and will be sent on to manufacturing for the discs to be pressed. Often it doesn't mean that the developers get a year long holiday - there will still likely be a day one patch for those niggles that are resolved from now until its release next month.

Barlog congratulated his team and praised "every wonderful human who worked so hard" to complete God of War. There's even a picture of the master disc!

In case you missed it, Sony released a new advertisement earlier this week, showing Kratos and his son defeating various evil monsters. Don't forget the trusty arrow, too.

You can look forward to hacking your way through God of War when it releases on April 20th, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
