Guild Wars 2 Announces Wardrobe System

Guild Wars 2 Announces Wardrobe System

MMO Guild Wars 2 has announced a new system to let players keep track of unique gear and customise their avatars through weapons and armor vanity skins.

The new Wardrobe System is a part of the April 2014 Feature Pack, which will be the first one to focus primarily on pre-existing game functions and systems. Equipping gear will remain the same, however following the April 15 update, players find a new "wardrobe" tab in their Hero Panel, which will allow them to visually customise the weapons and armor their character uses--at the cost of transmutation charges--with new patterns and color schemes without changing the item's stats.

The Wardrobe System primarily seeks to improve the functionality and organisation of the game's expansive list of vanity skins, unique equipment and cosmetic items. Addressing what developers felt was a "disconnected" Wardrobe, the new system works through the equipment screen to provide a "one-stop-shop" approach to visually modifying a player's avatar, decluttering inventory and storage systems in the process.

the Feature Pack also updates the transmutation system, which will no longer destroy two items to create a new one, and introduces an account-wide unlocking feature for cosmetic items and equipment skins. The pack also allows players to preview dyeing and color modifications to individual armor pieces--allowing them to coordinate color schemes more easily--before commiting to a change.
