H1Z1 Set To Split Into Two Unique Games

Daybreak Game Company LLC have announced that their Early Access survival game H1Z1 will be split into two separate games. The two titles will both be unique experiences brought about from the different player experiences that the Early Access has offered.

Laura Naviaux, Chief Publishing Officer of Daybreak games said:

"Over the course of development, we discovered it had evolved into two unique gaming experiences, appealing to two distinct communities. Fostering lasting communities is the bedrock of our organization, and by allowing these worlds to exist independently and grow in their own distinguished ways, we can better deliver on a consistent vision and clear roadmap for each game toward official release and beyond.”

The two games will be H1Z1: King of the Kill - which is a large-scale multiplayer shooter consisting of various fight-to-the-death game modes - and H1Z1: Just Survive which will refine its open-world zombie survival experience. The title will feature base-building, scavenging and crafting which will all be inherent to the survival experience.

H1Z1: King of the Kill  and H1Z1: Just Survive will both launch on 17 February for PC through Steam Early Access. H1Z1: King of the Kill is set to release for consoles sometime this summer. Players who currently own or purchase H1Z1 before 16 February will be given both games.
