Habbo Begins Unity Engine Open Beta

Habbo Begins Unity Engine Open Beta

In preparation for the end of widespread Flash support on modern web browsers, social entertainment company Sulake has begun the process of migrating its long-standing social game Habbo from Flash to Unity. Launched into open beta on the 23rd December, the Unity version of Habbo is planned to offer all the same features of the original Flash version with the addition of a number of new features: vaults and a new avatar levelling system to name a couple.

The two versions of Habbo, Flash and Unity, will run side-by-side through until the 1st January 2021, when Flash will cease to function and only the Unity version of Habbo will be playable.

Discussing the migration, Sulake CEO Valtteri Karu talks on behalf of the entire Sulake team, stating that it will "allow us to vastly improve the user experience while still providing the most loved features of the original, just more polished and streamlined".

This promises to be a positive move forward for Habbo. For more information on the Unity open beta, you can check out Habbo's official website.

The Habbo Unity open beta is available now.
