Hackers Get Linux on PS4, use it to Play Pokemon
Getting Linux to run on electronic devices is a favourite pastime of hackers. If you can run Linux on something, you can generally do what you want with it. In the case of games consoles, this generally tends to take the form of running homebrew software, and usually emulators.
The PS4 actually runs on a system similar to Linux anyway, being based on the FreeBSD operating system. Given that, it was only a matter of time before someone had the Penguin-synonymous OS running on it. That's exactly what hacking group Fail0verflow have done and to add a nice twist, their demonstration showed that once onto a desktop, they can ever run emulators. To illustrate this fact, they ran a customised version of Pokémon Emerald. Check out the above video to see it in action and checkout their blog to see how they did it.

This is possibly the best use of a PS4 ever...
(Except for keeping doors open, and paper from flying away)
