HTC Vive Formally Unveiled and Priced. Pre-Orders Opening Soon
HTC's Vive headset aims to be the primary competition for the Oculus Rift. The headset, a joint venture between HTC and Valve, is more advanced than Oculus' offering, coming with room sensors and a front facing camera so you can see the real world without removing your headset.
The device will be open for Pre-Orders on the 29th February, but don't expect to be getting one for a bargain just yet. The device is set to cost a whopping $799 at launch. Granted, you get two free games with that: Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption, but nonetheless, if you baulked at the Rift's announced price, you might find the same complaint with the Vive.

Well that's my hopes of going VR this year out of the window. Wonder how this will affect the pricing of Sony's VR. Me thinks £300-400.
