Ikaruga Coming to Switch This Month
About a month after its initial tease, punishingly-difficult shooter Ikaruga's Switch release date has finally been announced.
Originally released in 2001, Sega's Ikaruga was an entirely new type of shooter. Initially receiving mixed reviews in arcades for its quirky color-matching gameplay, its console release was more favorable received, receiving a host of high numbers on both Dreamcast and Gamecube on release. Since its initial release on those two systems, Ikaruga received releases on PC and XBox 360, and as of this month, Switch owners will have a chance to give this a brutal shooter on Nintendo's newest console.
The release dates has been confirmed to be May 29, and is expected to cost $14.99 (USD) on launch. It has been confirmed to include local co-op support, an arcade mode, and "Prototype" mode, which will add increased difficulty by limiting your bullets based on how many you have absorbed successfully.
