InXile Return to Crowdfunding for Wasteland 3
InXile Entertainment are hoping to produce a sequel to their classic game Wasteland, and they're doing it via a crowdfunding campaign. No, you haven't gone back in time to 2014, Wasteland 2 was such a success that Brian Fargo and friends are returning for a third instalment of the series. This time though, the game is being funded by fig, a slightly different kind of crowdfunding site. Where site like Kickstarter relies on backers wanting rewards in return for their investment, fig adds an additional option for those who want to be financially invested in the game. Donate $1000 or more and you'll receive a share of the game's profits as well.
“If a platform like Fig had existed back when we Kickstarted the Wasteland 2 campaign, investors would have been very happy,” said Brian Fargo, CEO, inXile Entertainment. “We want to take our Wasteland franchise to a darker and brutal post-apocalyptic setting that builds on the foundation of Wasteland 2. A game that is ambitious in reactivity and with new features like multi-player and the integration of vehicles into the world.”
