Kickstarter Hopeful: Night City Assault
If you're a fan of old scrolling fighters like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage then Night City Assault could be right up your street. This scrolling fighter is the brainchild of Xtramile Games and is set for a late 2016 release if funded.
As well as the traditional walking and fighting mechanics, the game promises to incorporate elements of RPGs and Metroidvania style exploration. You’ll play as detective Roy Silver or officer Cindy Chan - or both in co-op mode. Recently transferred Roy and new recruit Cindy find themselves stuck in an area of the city overrun by a syndicate, led by a man named Viper. While you wait for backup to arrive, you have no choice but to fight your way through and find out what is really going on in this out of control city.

Last game I played that looked like this was one of the levels in Saints Row IV.

Me too. I backed it before I finished writing this in fact! Loved Streets of Rage and this reminds me a lot of that.
