Kickstarter of Note: Mongrel

There's a distinct trend in retro-themed run and gun games lately, with the genre experiencing a strong resurgence. Animal mascot platformers are also seeing a bit of a comeback, so it's little surprise to see a Kickstarter for a game that incorporates both.

Looking and playing just like a game you could have seen running on the Amiga in the nineties, Mongrel aims to recapture the feel of some of the classic games of that era. Norwegian developer Fischmell are looking for 230,000 Norwegian Krone to fund the game (that's about $27,000 or £21,000). At the time of writing, they're over 20% of the way there, with a bit over two weeks to go.
