Kingdom Hearts III and More are Coming To Game Pass This Month
Xbox Game Pass for consoles is getting some big new additions later this month, with a total of six more titles joining the service. These include:
- Ninja Gaiden II - 20th February
- Kingdom Hearts III - 25th February
- Two Point Hospital - 25th February
- Wasteland Remastered - 25th February
- Yakuza 0 - 26th February
- The Jackbox Party Pack 3 - 27th February
Originally released in 2008, Ninja Gaiden II is a brutally challenging Xbox 360 hack-’n’-slash that will be available to play via the backwards compatibility feature. While it didn’t quite reach the same critical heights as the 2004 reboot for the original Xbox, it was still met with mostly positive reviews, with many considering it to be a solid - if slightly underwhelming - follow up.
Kingdom Hearts III released in early 2019, and is the latest entry in the long-running action RPG franchise. It serves as a conclusion to the “Dark Seeker Saga” that has been set up since the original title, as Sora, Donald and Goofy search for the seven guardians of light to try and finally put a stop to recurring antagonist Xehanort.
Two Point Hospital’s inclusion on Game Pass coincides with its console release, which has come over a year after its initial release on PC. Acting as a spiritual successor to 1997’s Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital is a business simulation game where players have to create and manage an empire of hospitals. It was met with a strong critical reception upon its original release, with most critics agreeing that it was a faithful follow-up to the original game.
Originally released in 1988, Wasteland was an open-world roleplaying game for computer systems. Being set in a post-apocalyptic America, the original title was so unique at its time that it eventually became the basis for the Fallout series, which would see its inception a decade later. Now a remaster is launching simultaneously on Game Pass, with updated visuals, sound design and an expanded musical score.
The Yakuza franchise is finally making its way to Xbox platforms, with the prequel instalment Yakuza 0. Set in the 1980’s, players control yakuza gang member rookie Kazuya Kiryu and cabaret club owner Goro Majima, as the two unrelated characters inadvertently become tied up in the same larger conflict, involving numerous threads of conspiracy theories and betrayals. While a good chunk of the runtime will be spent wailing on groups of thugs with 3D beat-’em’-up style combat, there’s also an eclectic mix of minigames and dozens of quirky side quests to get invested in.
Including a total of five different minigames, Jackbox Party Pack 3 is a hilarious multiplayer title to share with friends. The minigames range from a quiz show drenched in a horror aesthetic to a t-shirt creator where players have to come up with the best designs possible.
