Krufs Productions Unveils Trailer for Debut Title Heavy Metal Death Can
Krufs Productions has unveiled a brand-new trailer for their debut retro-inspired horror: Heavy Metal Death Can.
While you might think that ABBA ruled the music scene in '70s Sweden, Heavy Metal Death Can leans into a soundtrack that contains heavy guitar riffs, with a mixture of distortion and reverb, all performed by Argos Eye as a side project of one of their team members, Toby. It's Argos Eye's unique sounds that were able to emulate the chilling sounds of being in an underwater metal vessel, with Toby also lending his voice to the sound effects, such as bone-chilling screams of the naval officers.
But, I'm getting ahead of myself. The title may come from the brilliant heavy metal music of Argos Eye, but the plot revolves around being in a military submarine that is deep in the ocean of an alternate universe Sweden. In the submarine, your crew need to fight against the Sludge, some all-encompassing filth which has transformed your crew into oil-spewing zombies. Sneak through the echoing passageways with the disturbing sounds of your own footsteps. Seek out other survivors, and uncover clues to find out how and why your now literally in a metal Death Can.
Heavy Metal Death Can utilises fixed camera angles, tank controls, and choice-driven gameplay to channel the same cinematic style of late '90s horror. You'll need to hone your skills, balance your ammo, health, and risk in a world where the cosy Swedish culture clashes with the cold industrial beauty that you would expect from the depths of the ocean.
With the submarine inspired by a real-life visit to an actual sub from that era, there are a lot of elements, such as uniforms and control panels, that are very closely based on reality.
With uneasy alliances and strange encounters around every corner, you can expect Heavy Metal Death Can to disturb players in the best way when it comes to Steam in late 2026. If you're interested, why not add it to your wishlist now to keep updated?
