League of Legends 2026 Season 1 Act 1: For Demacia is Out Now

With 2025 now in the past, 2026 is starting off strong with a very formative year in League of Legends. The new season brings in a slew of massive changes, shifting the way the MOBA is played in its entirety, introducing all-new gameplay elements, removing some beloved ones, and trying out a new approach.

As Riot Games has stated before, the plan with new seasonal approaches is to ensure that the beginning of every new year — the first season of the annual cycle — brings about the largest gameplay changes, with fine-tuning occurring throughout the second and the third season keeping things mostly still for esports and Worlds. With 2026 starting off, the massive list of changes has arrived, taking away the highly beloved Winter Map (we hope it'll be back next year) and radically affecting some gameplay elements.

• New role quests for every role (much like the current Role Quest that Support and Jungle have).
• New Crystalline Overgrowth mechanic that does more damage to turrets the longer you've spent without hitting them (a comeback mechanic).
• New Faelights mechanic that increases Ward vision value by illuminating a large part of the map at designated warding spots.
• Several new items and reworks.
• Feats of Strength removed.
• Atakhan removed.
• Major neutral objective rework to ease off objective fatigue.
• Turret platings in all turrets.
