League of Legends Brings Back Fan-favourite Map

Riot Games continues to honour their past by doing right by all the things that used to make League of Legends cool. From videos that are more stylised to listening to community feedback, it's been a bit of a changing point for Riot... for better and worse, really.

This time, a one-minute trailer has kicked up a storm over in League of Legends, as one of the most-requested features if being added to the game officially. Once upon a time, during the Winter seasons, Riot Games would celebrate Christmas by bringing snow to the Summoner's Rift, but somewhere along the way, the winter map stopped showing up, and it's been years of begging for Riot Games to bring it back.

Finally, the trailer gives us a peek at the updated winter map, featuring all sorts of hilarious, poro-themed elements. From snowmen to poros riding around in trains, it's a lot to take in, and it's all coming up soon, on Patch 25.23.

According to the release schedule, that means that the Summoner's Rift winter map will be arriving on the 19th of November 2025 — it's unclear how long it'll be around for, but our speculation is that it should be for two patches on patch 26.01 (still unscheduled).
