League of Legends Embraces 200 Years of Experience Meme in Yunara Champion Spotlight
Riot Games recently changed their approach to champion creations with their newest Season overhaul — rather than a new Season every year, there is something to look forward to every few months. Everything in League of Legends is following this same framework: new game modes or game mode updates, Summoner's Rift changes, and even champion drops fall into this category.
Now that we're deep into Season Two: Spirit Blossom Beyond, it's time to finally get a look at Yunara, the Unbroken Faith, the champion of the Season! While during Welcome to Noxus we got none other than Mel Medarda, a mage introducing a new game mechanic that has upset a few too many players, Riot Games is giving ADCs some love with this one.
The Champion Spotlight video is full of self-aware jokes about the 200 years of experience, and much to the relief of players, she won't be overly complex, which is a breath of fresh air in contrast to the previous launches. With Mel Medarda, Ambessa Medarda, Aurora (who has now been reworked), Smolder, Hwei, Briar... It's been a rough few years in terms of champion simplicity.

Riot Phreak returns to voice-over for the video, making a joke at the very 200 years of collective game experience, fully embracing it with Yunara and the simplicity of her kit. As a YouTube commenter put it, "return to monke ability descriptions THE WORLD IS FINALLY HEALING!".
It makes sense that Yunara is returning to a more simplistic approach, seeing as Riot Games is moving towards a more new-player-friendly approach with League of Legends, as seen with their latest Brawl mode, trying to simplify the game to its most basic mechanics.
As for when Yunara, The Unbroken Faith releases, you'll need to wait a bit longer: she's coming out on Patch 25.14 on the 16th of July 2025.
