League of Legends Fans Invited to Compete For $100,000 Scholarship Prizes

League of Legends developers, Riot Games, are inviting university students across the U.S. and Canada to compete for a prize pool of $100,000 in scholarships. The top four North American collegiate teams will battle live on the League of Legends Championship stage for the title and prizes.

Registration for the tournament has already begun and will end on January 22nd. Teams wishing to compete must provide proof that all team members attend the same accredited university. 

The championship entitled The North American Collegiate Open begins on January 25th and runs until February 2nd. After this finishes the top 16 teams will square off before the final four are flown to Manhattan Beach to compete in the live final on Feb 22nd & 23rd.
