League of Legends Returns Brawl Game Mode As a New Player Experience
League of Legends has been going through some major changes, many of which are focused on getting new players on board with the experience. While one of these is to change movement to support WASD options, the new-player experience is also being tested in the form of the Brawl game mode.
Launched as part of the featured game mode for a while, the all-out Team Deathmatch–like gameplay offers players a SMITE Arena option for those who were more casual. It features 10-minute matches and everything you need to make the experience more balanced, which has been received mixed in the community overall.
Brawl introduced a slew of new players to the experience, since it offered an accessible option contrasting Summoner's Rift or the Howling Abyss experiences. While each has its nuances, the low-stakes environment of Brawl meant that players could more easily get accustomed to the gameplay, while also trying out new champions without risk.

It's back for a limited time again, as Riot Games experiments with making the gameplay a bit more accessible, and even casual players have gotten in on the fun. The short length of each game means that you can easily fit it into a work-filled schedule without feeling robbed of your time in endless Summoner's Rift matches or playing ARAM and rolling poorly in terms of champions and compositions.
With Brawl around for two patches, League of Legends is currently inviting five different game modes to its doorstep on top of the evergreen Summoner's Rift and ARAM. Players can delve into Bandle City for two patches, so Brawl will leave on the 22nd of October 2025.
