Metallica Performing Live at BlizzCon 2014

As if the excitement of being at BlizzCon wasn't enough, it's now been revealed that legendary heavy metal band Metallica will be performing a concert for the crowd on the conventions closing night.

Although the event has sold out, those who weren't able to get tickets can buy the next best thing: a virtual ticket. This promises 'Complete HD access to Blizzard's epic two-day gaming convention', and includes being able to watch the band perform.

BlizzCon has now been running since 2005, with the first convention's attendance being recorded at 8000 people, it has increased in popularity with every subsequent event. This year's crowd is expected to be around the 26,000 mark.

The impressive list of bands who have previously performed on the closing night include The Offspring, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne and Blink 182.
