Mobile Games Out This Week: 27/1/17

We spend all week scrounging around for cool new iOS and Android game releases. Then, every Friday, we put together a list of them to share with you. How awesome is that?

Hint: it’s pretty awesome.

Just so you know, it’s not an exhaustive list. Rather, it covers the games that most stand out to us. Enjoy this week’s games!

Top Pick: Collect or Die (iOS, Android)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFEE0iVG9yc

Collect or Die is a beautifully brutal platformer with ragdoll physics, tons of gore, and great level designs that will cause countless deaths. You're forced to use tilt controls, but they're about as good as they get here, and there's a free version of the game if you're on the fence about them. Collect or Die is a little on the short side, but more levels are coming soon and there's plenty of score-chasing to help extend its longevity. We'll have a full review coming soon.

A Normal Lost Phone (iOS, Android)

Would you search through a stranger's phone if you had the chance? If you find yourself nodding your head vigorously, then you're in luck; that's exactly what you'll do in A Normal Lost Phone. It's a narrative-driven mystery that takes place entirely through a smartphone interface, and our writer who's reviewing it fell in love immediately.

Aviation Empire Platinum (iOS, Android)

Dive into the aviation world in Aviation Empire Platinum. You can manage your empire by designating flight paths, purchasing landing rights all over the globe, and developing your airports and aircraft. Most importantly...no timers!

Little Lords of Twilight (iOS, Android)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIqzP-wijB4

Little Lords of Twilight features turn-based PVP combat set in a fantasy world. There's a unique day and night cycle that affects certain mechanics, forcing you to adapt as the day shifts from light to dark. It's freemium, but supposedly not pay to win.

Splitter Critters (iOS, Android soon)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFBV_u5YZF0

Think of Splitter Critters as a platformer where you control the environment rather than your character. You'll have to guide your critters through increasingly challenging levels by swiping the screen to "split" the terrain.
