Classic Channel 4 show GamesMaster is to return as a Netflix original series, according to the company’s Vice President of Original Series, Anne Mensah. The show, which originally starred Dominic Diamond and Sir Patrick Moore is to be brought up-to-date for 2020 and will focus largely on esport games such as Fortnite, FIFA, and Stardew Valley.
Alongside gaming-fanatic Paddy McGuinness, the show is set to star Charles Dance as the new face of the GamesMaster himself, replacing the dearly departed Sir Patrick. The actor, known for his work in theatre and television, is no stranger to the world of videogames after his role in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as Emperor Emhyr var Emreis
New host Paddy McGuinness said “I was a massive fan of the original show back in the day, and I only hope that I can do as good a job as Dexter Fletcher did originally. I’m a big fan of videogames, and my Nintendo Xbox is my favourite possession. I love to play Horizon Zero Dawn on it.”
