New Pokémon Snap Receives Release Date

Announced back in June 2020, The Pokémon Company has revealed that its upcoming photography sim, New Pokémon Snap, will release on the 30th April for the Switch. Alongside this news, the company also released a trailer showing off the vibrant environments they'll be exploring and the diverse creatures they'll be encountering in just a few short months.

There'll be plenty of capturing to be done in New Pokémon Snap, but not capturing of the typical "capture, train and fight" variety. Instead, players will be spending their time with camera in-hand, lining up the perfect shots and channelling their inner David Attenborough. The original Pokémon Snap, released on the Nintendo 64, stands today as a cult-classic. Needless to say, there are some high expectations for this one. Let's hope it hits the spot.
