New Resident Evil 3 Remake Trailer Showcases Nemesis in Action

A new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake has been released, with a heavier emphasis on some of the key characters, along with the iconic lead monster Nemesis.

For those who are unfamiliar with the story of Resident Evil 3, players control S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) officer Jill Valentine, as she tries to escape the zombie infected Racoon City during the outbreak. While the walking dead are the most frequent threat in the game, numerous other adversaries roam the same streets, including the aforementioned near-unstoppable lumbering giant Nemesis.

Nemesis is a bioweapon created by the nefarious pharmaceutical company Umbrella, with the sole task of tracking down and eliminating remaining S.T.A.R.S member. Nemesis will be constantly hunting Jill throughout the course of the game, not only using his own immense physical strength and tentacles that can protrude from his body, but also utilising heavy weaponry such as a rocket-launcher and a flamethrower.

In addition to Nemesis, the classic Hunter enemy type is also shown off in all its grotesque glory during the trailer. The Hunter’s are a reptilian enemy type that originate from the Spencer Mansion of the original Resident Evil, and are not only resilient to weaponry, but are also agile and dangerous with giant claws being able to deal large amounts of damage.

Jill isn’t alone to face these threats however, as she also encounters the friendly Umbrella soldier Carlos throughout the game along with his small platoon of soldiers. The trailer spends some time focussing on Carlos’ gameplay, indicating that he will be controllable throughout more sections of the remake than the original game.

Along with Carlos are other notable characters, including U.B.S.C leader Nicholai Ginovaef, commanding officer Mikhail Victor and S.T.A.R.S member Brad Vicker.

Resident Evil 3 remake is set to release 3rd April for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
