Rumours have been circulating about a new model of Nintendo Switch set to enter mass production in Q1 of 2020. Reports, informed by companies operating within Nintendo's supply chain, come from Taiwanese website Digitimes and claim that the console will release mid-2020. The report is light on details but it supports prior rumours of a "Pro" Switch that will boast an upgraded processor and allow for higher resolutions with a longer un-docked battery-life.
In addition to the handheld-only Switch Lite, Nintendo released a slightly updated version of its original Switch in mid-2019, although the only tangible improvement with that model came in the form of a longer-lasting battery (and a better box design, although that's just my opinion).
Taken alone, the report may be worth disregarding; as another piece of evidence in the growing "Switch Pro" case, it's at least deserving of brief consideration.
