Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has passed away at the age of 55. The cause of his death was a growth he was battling in his bile duct and the date of death was July 11, 2015.
Iwata began his career as a programer for HAL laboratories before becoming a president of Nintendo. Iwata is most known for overseeing the Wii and DS productions as well as coining the phrase "please understand".
He also had semi regular Q & A sessions called "Iwata asks" as well as parcipiating in many Nintendo Directs. While Nintendo doesn't always do the best financially Iwata pushed fun first for Nintendo games before anything else.

Very upsetting - the industry has lost a great man, personality and visionary.
Best of luck to his successor - those are some big boots to fill.

A man who believed that Fun was more important than money, not something you see a lot of in other companies these days. He will definitely be missed :(
