Over 34.2 Million Are Subscribed to PlayStation Plus
This week Sony Interactive Entertainment released its financial results for the fiscal year ending on March 31st, 2018.
In it, Sony has altered the way it reports the results of its Game & Network Services, which provides a breakdown of how many subscribers it has on PlayStation Plus. There's also a split between hardware, software, and network sales revenue that is interesting to read through.
The last piece of information we had from Sony regarding PlayStation Plus was in December, where it was announced that there were 31.5 million subscribers. Since then, there has been an increase of 2.7 million to 34.2 million.
It also forecasted a total of 95 million shipped PS4 units by March 2019. To compare, it is estimated that there were less than 90 million PS3's shipped in its lifetime.
Sony certainly has given consumers reason to opt for the PS4 this generation, especially with the highly positive reception the recent God of War iteration has garnered.

I'm more interested in seeing what PS+ subscription numbers are in August, which would be a year since they raised the price. Coincidentally, it's about the time that they began pumping out special offers for PS+ such as a month free, a free copy of Far Cry 4, and the latest one a 3 month subscription to Netflix.
