PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Sells Four Million Copies

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds certainly is the game shaker it was set out to be, becoming one of the biggest titles available on Steam today. With four million copies sold worldwide in three months, it’s a huge achievement for developer Bluehole and its creator, Brendan Greene AKA PlayerUnknown.

On top of this, the game has now peaked 257,335 players as of writing. With a 24-hour peak of over 230,000 players. On top of this, the team at Bluehole has generated $100 million in revenue. Which is impressive and this is a title in Early Access but has getting consistently getting monthly updates and improvements since its first launch back in March 2017.

It doesn’t look anything is going to stop this train, and Bluehole has been incredibly grateful and appreciative of the community as said by Bluehole’s Vice President and Executive Producer, Chang Han Kim:

“I genuinely appreciate all the love and support the fans have shown to PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS,” “Our team is working passionately to deliver a stable gameplay experience as we prepare for our full launch later this year.”

Oh, but it’s not just the players who are enjoying Battlegrounds, the game has become one of the most watched titles on Twitch with more than 350,000 peak concurrent viewers.

It doesn’t end there though, while currently, Battlegrounds is a PC exclusive, it will be getting a console launch with the announcement at E3 2017 from Microsoft, that Battlegrounds will be coming to Xbox One in late 2017.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the ultimate battle for life and death. Players are dropped in a photorealistic 8 x 8 km island. You have to locate weapons, supplies and gear to survive against 99 other players who will do anything to get their chicken dinner.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available on Steam Early Access Now.
