Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby Screenshots and New Trailer

Taking place in the Hoenn region, your job is to become the Pokémon Champion, defeat Team Aqua/Magma and discover the mystery of Mega Evolution.

The trailer shows a 'real life' trainer discovering a cave with paintings of Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon in, then in-game footage.

Unlike past remakes, such as Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, these will have a new plot line, in the guise of Megaevolution. Also 3D graphics, but that's to be expected thanks to X and Y.

Megaevolution is a new mechanic in the games, so The Pokémon Company are including it in this game. Instead of just the plain two or three evolutions, the final evolution gets a short-lived power up, before returning to normal. So, confirmed in screenshots and art, there will be Mega Swampert, Mega Sceptile and Mega Blaziken.

You will also be learning more about them, building on the storylines of the the last games.
