Project Beast Screenshots Leaked
Users on the forum NeoGAF appear to have uncovered screenshots of the elusive next project from Dark Souls studio From Software.
The screenshots have come from two separate Japanese sources, lending them credibility as actual visuals from the mysterious "Project Beast".
From these screenshots and some cryptic quotes that go along with them, it appears that Project Beast will be in a similar vein to Dark Souls, although not a sequel. Several of the screenshots seem to feature a nightmare-ish giant dog, and a man with a sword, long duster and hat, which appears to perhaps be the player character.
According to the source with these screenshots, players will make use of a shotgun, moving up the proverbial timeline on the game's weaponry from that of Dark Souls. One of the original posters of the screenshots provided this broken summary of what might have a been a working demo of the game:
"he walked around
fought enemies
i can describe a giant mindflayer type enemy
a character placing a shining magic sword into a pedestal at the base of a statue
a huge pyromancy fireball
shotguns
there was text "This is a nightmare.""
There's no official word on when this game will drop, what it's called ("Project Beast" is allegedly the working title), or what systems it will be for. However, rumors earlier this year have indicated that From Software may be working on PlayStation 4 exclusive, which could very well be "Project Beast". With E3 looming in the future, it seems likely that the game might see an official announcement soon.
