PUBG Corp. and StarLadder launch European Pro League

PUBG Corp. and StarLadder are expanding their esports presence with the PUBG Europe League, launching in January 2019. This league will be a part of a global competitive system, with a chance to qualify for an international event at the end of the season. The league will take place in a specially designed Battle Royale LAN-studio in a European capital, with PUBG Corp. providing housing and travel support to the teams, as well as a revenue share.

“Taking the next step in our five year plan, the PUBG Europe League brings more consistency with regular matches from professional teams, bringing an increase in competitive matches for the fans and players of PUBG to get excited for and watch." says VP at PUBG Corp. Alex Nam. "The more matches on offer from the league will ensure teams are enhancing their skills and strategy over the course of the season, to result in matches with even more grandeur.”

The PEL will begin as a promotion/relegation league, a model we have seen other esports leagues move away from in recent years in favour of the franchise model. This will be supported by two online competitions ongoing at once, with an Open League for entry-level teams split into regions, and Contenders League for teams of a higher skill level. Winners of the Contenders League will then move onto the PEL, and play at the LAN arena.

Registration for the PEL has already begun, with qualifying tournaments beginning in October and lasting through until December 2018.

Reviews the games nobody else will, so you don't have to. Give her a bow and arrow and you have an ally for life. Will give 10s for food.
