Raiders of the Broken Planet is to get its first major update as the economy gets an overhaul.
Developer MercurySteam detailed the upcoming changes in a video featuring Community Manager Karen Hernandez. The update will focus on the economy of the game meaning that players who download the Prologue can now use Gold, Faction Points, and Character Points to unlock new characters, craft weapons and unlock pieces of lore. These were all originally unavailable to players unless they had purchased the campaign.
This also means that players can unlock characters such as Mikah, Dr. Kuzmann and Ginebra who again were locked behind the purchase of a campaign. The sniper Shae is still a campaign exclusive character though. The news of the changes is a welcome one as the economy within Raiders of the Broken Planet has been somewhat broken to this point as one of our writers discusses in "The Broken Economics of Raiders of the Broken Planet". This update marks the first of many that the developers have planned for the game as they continue to grow it moving forward.
Raiders of the Broken Planet is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
