Rainbow Six Siege Budget Version Released
There have been mixed views on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege since its release last year. Some have heralded it as one of the best shooters of the year, while others have dismissed it as a very expensive freemium game. The title is taking a step closer to that latter definition with the announcement of a cut down Starter Edition.
This budget-priced version of the game ditches some of the features in return for a discount. It’ll set you back £12/€15/$15, and offers an initial two Operators, randomly picked out of Ash, Fuze, Mute, Rook, Sledge, and Smoke. You also get 600 R6 Credits that can be used to unlock another two Operators or other in game items if you prefer.

One down side to this version is the unlocking of further Operators. In the standard edition of the game, each Operator costs between 500 and 2000 renown. This version insists that you must earn 12,500 renown per Operator that you wish to unlock.
This isn’t a permanent deal though, and it ends after 16th June. The game is expected to only be available in its standard form after that time. This is a digital only offer as well, with physical releases being limited to the regular edition.
