Rainbow Six: Siege E3 Awards Trailer

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for it's upcoming addition to the Tom Clancy franchise, Rainbow Six: Siege. Siege follows the traditional Rainbow Six recipe of anti-terrorist and hostage rescue and appears to do it well. Really well. So well in fact that it received a number of accolades at E3. Ubisoft has released this trailer to show off these accolades including more than one best of show award.

Rainbow Six: Siege mixes the action of a first-person shooter with the tactics of previous Rainbow Six games. Players on the Rainbow Team use all the classic tools such as breach charges to enter and deal with the terrorists. In the multiplayer, players on the hostage taking side use various defences to protect themselves from the incoming assault such as blocking windows and doorways and using a hostage as a shield. Walls, floors and ceilings are destructible, making for some truly three dimensional game play. Tactics seem to be key, distancing it somewhat from FPS rivals like Call of Duty, which are normally more of a run and gun affair.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is tipped for release some time next year.
