Rainbox Six: Seige Roadmap Revealed
Ubisoft have been very vocal about having big post launch plans for the upcoming Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege and they've now shown even more details on the content that fans can expect to be coming up after the 1st December launch. They have also detailed how the game will work with regards microtransactions.
The expected regular gameplay balancing, tweaks, improvements to features, and detailed patch notes are being offered but also a dedicated team of about 80 people will be constantly listen to fan feedback, monitoring gameplay statistics and ensuring that the experience is optimal. Events and competitions are also in the works, as well as four major content expansions for 2016 that include new maps, operators, modes and weapons. Ubisoft have already confirmed that these expansions will be totally free.
Ubisoft's Post-Launch Timeline
Playing the game will earn players "renown", which can be used to purchase additional weapon skins and operators. There will also be a premium currency known as "R6 credits" and this can also be used to purchase operators and skins as well as renown boosters. Around a third of available weapon skins will only be purchasable with this premium currency. This of course answers the commonly asked question of "how are Ubisoft going to make money if they're releasing DLC packs for free? Surely that's too good to be true"
