Resident Evil: Revelation 2 False Co-Op Advertising on PC
The PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is only available in single-player regardless of the co-op option being listed on the Steam store page.
Members on forums such as NeoGAF and the Steam forums are posting threads asking how to activate the local co-op, to then become aware of the issue. The false phrasing on the store's page has lead to mass confusion among the public.
The page reads:
Assistive co-op play – Players will need to switch between the two characters (Claire/Moira, Barry/Natalia) to overcome the nightmares in either single player mode with an AI partner or offline co-op.
But at the bottom of the description, there is a small sentence saying:
The PC version does not support offline co-op play in the Campaign or Raid Mode.
These are the only two modes through-out the game, therefore implying the game does not have co-op, this contradicts the previous statement advertising the offline co-op play for users.
Vg247 emailed Capcom to find out what the issue was, to then have an email resulting with information that states local co-op will not be a feature for the PC version, but online play will be available.
The PC version of Resident Evil Revelations 2 supports a variety of customizable visual settings and resolutions.
The decision to prioritize a single local screen was made to ensure a stable user experience across a variety of different PC settings and devices. Raid mode will support online co-op shortly after launch when a free patch is available for players to download which adds this feature, but the main campaign on PC will only be available to play in single local screen.
